Alpha International Photo Group has been founded in 1992 by Albert Sneijkers, a Belgian photographer.

He intended to make a call for photographers from different countries in Europe, some professionel, some amateur, with different photographic styles, different techniques, and different opinions about photography.

The first meeting was held May 9th, 1992 in Genk, Belgium.
Meetings got organized regularly since this time and are now organized once a year.
